The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to trade center Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for center Timofey Mozgov, two future second-round picks and cash, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Paste BN Sports.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal hadn't yet been announced publicly.
Howard is owed $23.8 million next season, which is the last year of his contract. The move gives the Nets significant financial flexibility for the 2019-20 season.
Mozgov will make $16 million next season and $16.7 million in 2019-20.
Mozgov largely fell out of the rotation with the Nets last season while Howard averaged 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds.
This will be Howard's fourth team in four seasons.
