Lakers' Anthony Davis to miss fourth straight game with an injury

LOS ANGELES – Lakers star Anthony Davis will sit out Wednesday’s game against the Orlando Magic at Staples Center, which will mark the fourth consecutive game he misses because of soreness in his tailbone area.
“Still not ready,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said following morning shoot-around.
Davis went through some mild contact drills with the Lakers’ coaching staff on Wednesday, but he has yet to complete full-court scrimmaging against his teammates.
The Lakers plan to have a full practice Friday, which could pave the way for Davis’ return for Saturday’s game in Houston.
The Lakers do not plan to practice Sunday since they would travel for a game against Boston on Jan. 20. They then play a back-to-back against New York (Jan. 22) and Brooklyn (Jan. 23). Vogel may schedule a road practice, though, if Davis still needs more work to ensure his eventual return.
“We anticipate once AD is back, he will be back,” Vogel said. “We’ll see how Friday’s practice goes.”
