New Orleans Pelicans veteran guard JJ Redick showed off his sarcasm skills on Friday as he discussed his reunion with coach Stan Van Gundy.

Redick, entering his 15th NBA season, played for Van Gundy on the Orlando Magic for five seasons early in his career. The coach, known for his fiery style and grueling drills, was hired by New Orleans this year to replace Alvin Gentry.

Asked by reporters what type of defensive team the young Pelicans team can expect to be this season, Redick replied: "I think we'll be one of the better defensive teams (in the league) for the simple fact that we'll have great discipline. We'll have great rules. We'll drill the (expletive) out of everything."

Redick then turned more sarcastic.

"You can tell I'm super excited about it, ya know?" he said. "Can't wait for training camp, ya know? Like seriously, how did I end up with this (expletive) in year 15. I've gotta (expletive) do this (expletive) all over again with Stan. Oh man."

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James found Redick's comments funny, retweeting the interview and writing: "I've heard about his training camps."
