2025 NBA All-Star Game: New format, teams and how to watch all the weekend events

NBA All-Star weekend is fast approaching and will be held in the San Francisco Bay area, starting Friday, Feb. 14.
This year, a new format will be featured. The 74th annual NBA All-Star Game will change to a tournament-style competition that will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors.
The contest will include a mini-tournament featuring four teams competing in three games. The objective is to be the first team to reach or exceed 40 points. Two teams will compete in one semifinal game, while the other two teams will face off in the second semifinal. The winners of the semifinal matchups will advance to the championship game.

Which players made the 2025 NBA All-Star Game roster?
The roster for the 74th NBA All-Star Game has been announced, featuring some of the biggest names in the league. LeBron James, a starter for the Western Conference, will make a record 21st consecutive All-Star appearance. He will be joined by other notable players, including Nikola Jokic from the Denver Nuggets, Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Oklahoma City Thunder and Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors.
In the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will be joined by these fellow starters: Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum, Cleveland Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell, New York Knicks' Jalen Brunson and New York Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns.
How are the four All-Star Game teams formed?
The roster for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game consists of 24 players, which will form three teams of eight players each. The teams will be named Team Chuck, Team Shaq, and Team Kenny after the gamed TNT NBA analysts.
The fourth team will be the winning team from the Castrol Rising Stars showcase, which will feature top first and second-year NBA players, including NBA G League players. This team will be known as Team Candance.
The four teams will compete for a prize pool of $1.8 million. Each player on the winning team will receive $125,000. The second-place team will earn $50,000 per player, while both the third and fourth place teams will each receive $25,000 per player.
