Nico Harrison will always be Dallas public enemy No. 1 after the Luka trade

Good morning, Winners! I've never quite seen anything like what I saw last night when Luka Doncic returned to Dallas for the first time since the trade.

The people expected a vintage performance and that's precisely what we got — Vintage Luka. He scored 45 points to go along with eight rebounds, six assists and four steals. Mavs fans saw exactly what they've been missing on Wednesday night.

That's probably why the "Fire Nico" chants felt so visceral again.

There weren't enough Slovenian t-shirts in the world to quell the disdain every Mavericks fan in that building seemed to have for Nico Harrison, the GM who traded Doncic in the first place. Things were crazy in Dallas in the immediate aftermath of the deal, but they'd chilled out a bit since. And, by chilled out, I mean fans stopped coming to games to boo Harrison and the team.

But they showed up in full force again on Wednesday night, not only to boo Harrison but to actually cheer for Luka and his new team? It was so strange. Every Mavericks fan was a Lakers fan last night. When Doncic touched the ball, they cheered. We knew that was going to happen. But as the Lakers began pulling away, even without Doncic on the court, the building got louder and louder. Fans didn't sit until Doncic got his first bucket. That's how Laker-pilled that Mavs crowd was.

You can't blame them. I mean, Luka cried, guys. He really loves those fans and that team. They dealt him anyway. I've never seen a player openly weep like this about being traded. That opening tribute was hard to watch. Mark Cuban and I had the same facial expression the entire time.

Nico Harrison, you might want to warm the resumé up, my guy. Make a call to Nike or ESPN or something. It's over. He'll now be forever known as the guy who traded the guy. That's never a spot you want to be in.

A tradition unlike any other

It's that time of year again. Spring has sprung. The Masters is back. Scottie Scheffler is returning to Augusta to defend his championship. He's my pick to win it again this year. I know that's kind of boring, guys. But he's the best golfer in the world! What do you want me to do? Pick against him? Absolutely not.

Anyway, there are plenty of stories to pay attention to outside Scheffler. There are plenty of other potential winners here, too. Rory McIlroy is always a factor. Jon Rahm is interesting here.

Collin Morikawa has had an excellent 2025, so he's a popular pick for the tournament this weekend. Morikaw is one of the best bets of the weekend. Three of his last five appearances have been top 10 finishes, including two second-place finishes at The Sentry and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He's finished top five twice at Augusta. This could be the weekend he finally breaks through. Keep an eye on him.

The LIV Golf guys are back in action here, too. There are 12 members teeing it up this weekend at Augusta. Follow our live blog here as we follow them throughout the tournament.

Another big story? The weather. We're looking at mostly sunny days for the weekend in Augusta. But there's a strong chance for showers on Friday that could get in the way. We'll see.

This should be a fun tournament. Buckle in, folks.

A pleasant Masters cameo

Ken Griffey Jr. is making an appearance at The Masters this weekend, but maybe not in the capacity you were thinking.

Actually, I'm not all too sure what capacity you might be thinking because, well, Griffey has never been a golfer. And he won't be this weekend, either. He's actually working for Masters.com as a photographer on site for the event. Here's more from our pals at Golfweek:

"The Kid, donning a camera around his neck, was among a group of credentialed photographers during the Honorary Starter ceremony to kick off the 89th Masters Tournament.

After snapping photos of Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, Griffey was approached by two teenage patrons, Avery and Chandler Jones.

“My dad has your jersey in his office,” said Chandler, an eighth-grader from Evans, Ga."

I love everything about this.
