Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic in 2025 NBA playoffs: Schedule, dates, series odds
The Boston Celtics will begin defense of their NBA title when they take on the Orlando Magic in their first-round NBA playoff series.
On paper, it doesn't seem like much of a contest with the No. 2-seeded Celtics (61-21) sporting a high-powered offense that put up record-setting numbers from behind the 3-point line. Meanwhile, the Magic (41-41) had to play an extra game to reach the postseason, knocking off the Atlanta Hawks in the play-in tournament to claim the Eastern Conference's No. 7 seed.
However, the Magic did win two of the three matchups the teams played during the regular season.
The series will likely be decided by defense. The Magic yielded the fewest points per game in the league (105.5), while the Celtics gave up the second-fewest (107.2).

The first-round NBA playoff series between the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic will begin Sunday, April 20, and continue through at least Sunday, April 27.
