The New York Knicks showed the Detroit Pistons what NBA playoffs experience can mean to start their 2025 Eastern Conference first-round series, and it's up to the surprising Pistons to respond when they meet again Monday night for Game 2.

Powered by guard Jalen Brunson's game-high 34 points and a double-double in Karl-Anthony Towns' New York postseason debut, the Knicks used a 21-0 fourth-quarter run to pull away from the Pistons during their 123-112 Game 1 win and take a 1-0 series lead. Detroit is still looking to win its first playoff game since 2008 and end a drought that's now considered the longest losing streak in major professional sports despite playing better than New York for three quarters.

The Pistons, who improved by 30 wins this season, could also be without forward and top defender Isaiah Stewart for Monday's rematch after he appeared to be hobbled during Game 1. He's listed as questionable with right knee inflammation.
