Terry Stotts gets new contract with Portland

The Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a three-year extension with coach Terry Stotts, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed to Paste BN Sports.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet been announced.

Stotts will have the team option on his contract for next season picked up, and the extension - which pays an average of $5 million annually - will run through 2020.

The Blazers finished with a 44-38 record and fifth in the Western Conference. They lost to the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs after beating the Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round.

Stotts has a 182-146 record in four seasons at Portland.

The Vertical first reported that Stotts agreed to an extension with the Blazers.
