NBA draft: Ja Morant to undergo minor knee surgery

Projected top-three NBA draft pick Ja Morant will undergo on Monday minor arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, a person with knowledge of the situation told Paste BN Sports.
The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about Morant’s procedure, which will remove loose bodies from the knee.
The surgery is not expected to any impact on Morant’s draft status. The star 6-3 guard from Murray State is the No. 2 projected pick after Duke’s Zion Williamson in several mock drafts, including Paste BN Sports’.
Loose bodies are considered free floating pieces of debris in the joint that can cause pain, swelling and locking, according Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
The explosive Morant rocketed up draft boards during his sophomore season at Murray State, averaging 24.5 points, 10 assists and 5.7 rebounds.
Memphis owns the No. 2 pick, and with the team looking at a rebuild under new front-office personnel, it is possible the Grizzlies trade veteran point guard Mike Conley and select Morant, pairing him with big man Jaren Jackson Jr., who just completed his rookie season with Memphis. That would give the Grizzlies a solid base on which to rebuild.
