Amid coronavirus concerns, Vince Carter becomes emotional in what could be final NBA game

As the NBA opted to deal with the global coronavirus pandemic by suspending the regular season indefinitely on Wednesday, the final games for the foreseeable future were taking place.
Those contests included the Atlanta Hawks hosting the New York Knicks, which ended with a 136-131 overtime victory for the Knicks. But with everyone in the arena aware of the outside circumstances, the final moments were about anything but the score.
NBA stalwart Vince Carter, playing in his final season of a 22-year career, came off the bench and drilled a 3-pointer from the top of the key.
The crowd loved it, and so did Carter's teammates. After the game he became emotional.
"I'm not one for the whole (emotional) thing anyway. You ask a lot of people around me, they'll tell you. I just — the game's been good," Carter told reporters while choking up.

"If it ended today — and this day, this end of the season, these last 16 games will be talked about for a very long time — that's something I'll always remember," Carter added. "At least I scored my last basket. It will be a weird-but-cool memory."
