Hornets' Kemba Walker undergoes successful knee procedure

Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba walker underwent a successful minor arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, the team announced Wednesday. His recovery time is expected to last six weeks.

This is the third left knee procedure in as many years for Walker, who missed the final two games of the 2016-17 season with left knee soreness. The first two surgeries (January 2015, May 2016) were to repair meniscus tears.

Though the Hornets (36-46) finished 11th in the Eastern Conference and missed the playoffs for the second time in three years, Walker, 27, is coming off the best season of his six-year career. He posted career highs in scoring (23.2 points per game) and shooting (44.4% from the field; 39.9% from three). He was also selected to the All-Star Game for the first time in his career.
