Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons working on five-year , $130M deal

The Detroit Pistons and restricted free agent center Andre Drummond are working to finalize a five-year, $130 million deal, a person with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed to Paste BN Sports.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal was not yet done.

After Drummond's breakout season in which he averaged 16.2 points, 14.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.5 steals, it was widely expected that the Pistons wouldn't let their 22-year-old center get away.

Because of Drummond's status as a restricted free agent, Detroit could have matched any and all offer sheets that came his way. While the deal is expected to be agreed upon on Friday, it can't be signed until the free agency moratorium lifts on July 7. ESPN.com first reported that the two sides were nearing a deal.
