Heat C Hassan Whiteside suffered knee strain but returned in Game 1
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside went down awkwardly and grabbed his right knee in the first quarter of the Heat’s Game 1 series against the Toronto Raptors before exiting gingerly to the locker room.
He later returned to the game early in the second quarter.
Heat guard Dwyane Wade passed to Whiteside on a pick-and-roll but Whiteside hadn’t set his feet when his right leg slipped and buckled beneath him. He grabbed his right knee before returning to the locker room with just under five minutes left in the first quarter. He was back on the bench before the quarter ended and gave a thumbs-up to some of his teammates.
TNT reported he suffered a right knee strain.
"I think he'll be ready to go," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told TNT.
