Kevin Love coming off bench for Game 4 of NBA Finals
CLEVELAND – Cleveland forward Kevin Love was cleared to play for Game 4 on Friday less than an hour before tip.
It was announced about half an hour before tip that Love would come off the bench with veteran Richard Jefferson starting.
The Cavs' power forward sustained a concussion in Game 2 and missed Game 3, which Cleveland won 120-90.
LeBron James didn’t have an opinion on whom should start.
“I have an opinion on who’s our general, and that’s Coach Lue,” James said. “He’s going to make the right decision that he feels is best for the team. So, I’m a whatever. I think what’s more important is his health, and we hope he’s able to play tonight.”
Jefferson said he will be ready whether he’s starting or coming off the bench.
“Me, I try and approach it all the same way,” Jefferson said. “You do the exact same thing every single day. It’s called being a professional. Because you cannot have the mindset on starting and then someone sprains their ankle on the first play of the game and now you’re forced to play 36 minutes. You have to have that ‘always ready’ mindset, if the coach needs you. You just have to stay ready. Starting or not starting, it’s always the same approach.”
