Kevin Durant introduced by Phoenix Suns: Highlights from introductory news conference

Kevin Durant was formally introduced as the newest member of the Phoenix Suns during a press conference on Thursday at Footprint Center that was opened up to fans and streamed live.
Durant was joined on stage by new Suns majority owner Mat Ishbia and Suns general manager James Jones.

Kevin Durant's opening comments:
“I want to go out there and do the most that I can and be the best that I can ... I appreciate the warm welcome, but I’ve got more work to do.’’
Kevin Durant on joining the Suns:
“You see the growth in this team, when Monty (Williams) took over, when James came here ... The way they play on the floor, the energy on the floor.''
“I’m excited I’m here ... I’m looking forward to adding to it.’’
Kevin Durant on bringing a championship to Phoenix:
“That’s why we play the game of basketball ... but I’m more concerned what we do everyday as a team, the stuff you guys don’t see.’’
He later added: “I think we got all the pieces to be successful. We got guys that experienced what it’s like to play in that final round.’’
Kevin Durant on Phoenix fans:
“I could feel the excitement as soon as I got off the plane. Everywhere I’ve been so far, fans have giving me a warm welcome, but I still feel I’ve got to prove myself.’’ He added the Suns already have set '' a high standard.''

“I know there’s pressure because I’m one of the best players to ever play the game ... so every time I step on the floor, people are going to expect me to do great things.''

"He has a pure game, he can score from every area of the floor. He's athletic but he doesn't always show it.''
Kevin Durant on when he'll be back on the court (he's been out with a knee injury):
"I don't know but hopefully soon,'' he said, adding he'll defer to training staff but hopes it's after this weekend's All-Star break.
