Wednesday tip-off: San Diego State visits Cincinnati
Best Bet: Don't expect a track meet when No.17 San Diego State pays a visit to Cincinnati tonight (9 p.m. ET, ESPN2). The Bearcats, despite working double overtime at Nebraska in their last outing where they came up a point short, are still surrendering only 52.8 points a game. That's good for ninth in the country, but the Aztecs aren't far behind tied for 13th allowing only 55. Will they reach their combined average of 107.8? Some viewers in a certain city in the desert might be interested.
Number of the day: 7.3. No.12 Ohio State's Shannon Scott continues a recent tradition for the Buckeyes of putting an excellent facilitator on the floor. The senior PG is averaging 7.3 assists a game, tops in the Big Ten and fourth in the nation. He and OSU return to action tonight hosting North Carolina A&T (7 p.m. ET, BTN).
Words of the day: "Two years ago, when we were laying a foundation of the program, we came in here and lost by 39 points. ... You want to come into these venues and compete." — Eastern Michigan coach Rob Murphy last week after his Eagles went into Ann Arbor and toppled Michigan. EMU will try to pull off the rare Great Lake State double tonight at No.22 Michigan State (9 p.m. ET, BTN).
Days until Selection Sunday: 88.
