Nic Moore scores 23, No. 23 SMU runs over Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Nic Moore and Cannen Cunningham led a 15-0 second-half run as No. 23 Southern Methodist gave Tulsa its first American Conference loss, 68-57 on Saturday night.

Moore scored 23 and Cunningham, a career-high 16 for SMU (19-5, 10-2).

It was the first conference loss for Tulsa (17-6, 10-1) in 22 games, including 11 straight at the end of its Conference USA run last year.

After Rashad Smith scored to tie the game at 43 with 11:57 remaining, Tulsa didn't score again until two free throws by Brandon Swannegan with 4:36 left. Cunningham scored eight points, including the first six, and Moore added a pair of jumpers, including a 3-pointer, in the decisive run.

SMU's length gave Tulsa fits all night.

Yanick Moreira had 13 points and 13 rebounds for SMU.
