New Mexico's Devon Williams collapses during game vs. New Mexico State

New Mexico forward Devon Williams suffered a neck injury in the Lobos' game against New Mexico State on Sunday night, but he was up and walking around at a hospital and had feeling in his extremities.

"Devon Williams suffered a cervical spinal cord contusion," coach Craig Neal told ESPN. "He has feeling in all extremities. Kept overnight for observations. Yet to be determined how long he will be out."

The 6-8 redshirt junior from Dallas collapsed with 11:16 remaining, and was taken off the floor on a stretcher.

New Mexico (2-0) defeated New Mexico State 83-74.

Williams scored two points and had three rebounds in the Lobos' opener against Texas Southern. He averaged 6.7 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game last season.
