Monday hoops spotlight: North Carolina at Louisville

Aside from some — ahem — memorable comments from UNC coach Roy Williams (Pro tip: don’t say ‘green room’ around him), the Tar Heels had a fairly uneventful week since regaining the top spot in the coaches poll.

The Cardinals’ ranking will almost certainly take a hit by the time they take the floor following Saturday’s subpar performance against Virginia.

Louisville’s challenge will be a bit different. The Cardinals had a dreadful time with the Cavaliers’ pressure that led to 18 turnovers.

The Tar Heels might not mount the same level of defensive intensity, but they more than make up for it with the wide array of scoring options facilitated by the backcourt duo of Joel Berry II and Marcus Page.

Another cold start for Louisville could prove disastrous, but senior G Damion Lee’s experience should come in handy as he looks to bounce back.
