Paste BN Sports examines teams that the NCAA tournament selection committee under-seeded and over-seeded on Selection Sunday.

Under-seeded

1. Arizona: The Wildcats received a No. 6 seed and should have been at least one seed higher considering Oregon's top seeding, Utah on the No. 3 line and Cal on the No. 4 line.

2. Seton Hall: On top of winning the Big East tournament, the Pirates had a very nice resume that included wins against Xavier and Villanova. They were given a No. 6 seed and now face a tough out in No. 11 Gonzaga. Seton Hall was definitely deserving of a No. 4 or No. 5 seed.

3. West Virginia: The Mountaineers had a better profile than Xavier and played in a much tougher conference. If Kansas is the top overall seed, WVU isn't that far behind. Bob Huggins' team deserved a No. 2 seed.

Over-seeded

1. Iowa State: The Cyclones had middling conference standings in a conference where standings matter. They were swept by Baylor but seeded higher. Wins against Kansas and Oklahoma looked pretty but the rest of the resume wasn't deserving of a No. 4 seed. Or a No. 5 seed for that matter. ISU should have been No. 6.

2. Wisconsin: An up and down season ended on a bad note with a loss to Nebraska. The Badgers undoubtedly turned things around under coach Greg Gard but that doesn't erase losses to Milwaukee and Western Illinois. They got a No. 7 seed but were closer to a No. 8 or No. 9 seed.

3. Duke: The Blue Devils had signature wins against No. 1 seeds North Carolina and Virginia, but their overall body of work doesn't merit a No. 4 seed. One seed lower at the No. 5 line would have made more sense.
