Yann Hufnagel back in coaching, as an assistant at Nevada

The former California men's basketball assistant coach who resigned amid allegations that he sexually harassed a female reporter has a new gig.

Yann Hufnagel has been hired by Nevada head coach Eric Musselman as an assistant coach, a person with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed to Paste BN Sports Friday night.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the hire had not been announced.

CBSSports.com first reported the hire.

Hufnagel had been on paid leave since mid-March following a university investigation into the female reporter's sexual harassment complaint. He officially resigned Thursday, just days after vowing to fight the allegations and make hundreds of text messages public.

The school investigated Hufnagel for months, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

He worked with the university's guards last year and the team's backcourt was considered one of the best in the Pac 12 conference, the school said.

Before Cal and a year at Vanderbilt University, Hufnagel spent four years as an assistant basketball at Harvard University. He was credited with helping develop guard Jeremy Lin, who now plays for the NBA's Charlotte Hornets.
