The No. 1 team in the Paste BN Sports men’s college basketball coaches poll has made it clear it intends to stay at the top.

Gonzaga remained the lone undefeated team in Division I, passing what would appear to be its final major road test of the regular season at West Coast Conference rival Saint Mary’s Saturday night. The Bulldogs strengthened their grip on the top spot, receiving 29 of 32 first-place votes this week. Villanova held steady at No. 2, claiming the remaining three firsts. Kansas held serve at No. 3, though the Jayhawks survived a scare at Texas Tech over the weekend.
