Kansas stays No. 1, Villanova now No. 2 in final regular season coaches poll

The final week of the regular season produced only minor changes in the Paste BN Sports men’s basketball coaches poll.

Kansas retained the No. 1 ranking heading into the Big 12 tournament. The Jayhawks received 27 of 32 first-place votes.

BRACKETOLOGY: Field of 68

Villanova edged ahead of UCLA to break the tie for second that occurred last week, though the Wildcats and Bruins each picked up two No.-1 nods. Gonzaga held steady at No. 4 and continued to receive the remaining first-place vote. Oregon swapped places to North Carolina to grab the last slot in the top five.

No. 25 Middle Tennessee is the poll newcomer this week, replacing Miami (Fla.).
