Louisville maintains No. 1 spot in the Paste BN men's basketball coaches poll

Another busy week in men’s college basketball produced significant movement in the Paste BN Sports coaches poll, foreshadowing what figures to be a wide-open NCAA tournament when the end of the season rolls around.

Louisville retained the No. 1 ranking for the second consecutive week. The Cardinals received 28 of 31 first-place votes cast this week after handing then-No. 5 Michigan its first loss of the campaign. Ohio State vaulted from sixth all the way to No. 2, staying unbeaten with convincing wins against North Carolina and Penn State. The Buckeyes picked up a pair of No. 1 votes as well.

Kansas is No. 3 followed by fourth-ranked Maryland, which claimed the remaining first-place nod. Duke is back in the top five after a big win against Michigan State.

Michigan falls just two spots to No. 7 behind Gonzaga, which earned a quality non-conference win at then-No. 23 Washington.
