No. 1 Baylor men's basketball takes on No. 2 Gonzaga: Everything you need to know
It doesn't get bigger than No. 1 vs. No. 2.
Just a little over a week into the 2020-21 college basketball season, Saturday will showcase the No. 1 Baylor Bears men (3-0) facing off with the No. 2 Gonzaga Bulldogs (3-0).
This showdown features – right now – the two best teams in the country by a mile. Gonzaga's KenPom rating of +29.32 and Baylor's of +28.70 are four points higher than the next-closest team, Villanova.
Whichever team wins Saturday will likely secure the No. 1 spot in Monday's latest coaches poll. Coach Mark Few's Gonzaga roster has beaten stellar opponents already: Kansas, Auburn and West Virginia. Baylor pulled out of a multi-team event in Connecticut after coach Scott Drew tested positive for COVID-19. The Bears won their first two games under assistant coach Jerome Tang before picking up a big victory over Illinois earlier this week.
