The Players Era Festival rolls on in Las Vegas on Wednesday with a battle of two of the more intriguing players in college basketball: Alabama's Mark Sears and Rutgers' Dylan Harper.
The ninth-ranked Crimson Tide (5-1) and Scarlet Knights (5-1) will tip off at 10 p.m. ET inside MGM Grand Garden Arena, with the winner of the game advancing to the Players Era Festival championship game on Saturday to play for the chance of $500,000 in NIL money.
Alabama picked up its first signature win of the season in Game 1 of Impact Group play on Tuesday against No. 7 Houston. In what turned out to be a Final Four-esque battle between two of college basketball's top teams, the Crimson Tide outlasted the Cougars 85-80 in overtime behind Sears' 24 points.
Rutgers is also fresh off a thrilling overtime win on Tuesday in Las Vegas against Notre Dame. Leading the way for the Scarlet Knights in their 85-84 win against the Irish was Harper, as the 6-foot-6 guard finished with a career-high 36 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the field with six rebounds and six assists.
