Dan Hurley and No. 18 UConn (16-6, 8-3 in Big East) host Rick Pitino and No. 10 St. John's (20-3, 11-1) at Gampel Pavillion on Friday at 8 p.m. ET in what is one of the biggest games of the weekend in men's college basketball.
UConn enters Friday's Big East showdown 2.5 games back of St. John's, which beat No. 11 Marquette on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden for first place in the Big East standings.

In order to take down the Johnnies on Friday, the Huskies will need the type of game that Solo Ball had against Marquette last Saturday in Milwaukee: 25 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field (7 of 11 3-point shooting) and 11 rebounds. UConn is expected to get back star forward Liam McNeeley Friday as well, who has missed the last month with a high ankle sprain. He has been a game-time decision the last two games for the Huskies.
At 20-3 on the season, Friday's game is the most anticipated regular season game for St. John's since Jan. 24, 1999, against No. 1 Duke at The Garden. St. John's has won 15 of its last 16 games, with its lone loss coming against Creighton on New Year's Eve.
