Day 2 of the opening round of 2025 NCAA Tournament is here. After the first full day of action across the country Thursday, college men's basketball teams are back in action today.

West Region action on Friday features a game between Maryland and Grand Canyon.

The Maryland Terrapins went 25-8 in the 2024-25 season and lost to eventual conference champion Michigan in the semifinals of the Big Ten conference tournament. That resume earned the Terrapins a No. 4 seed in the 2025 March Madness bracket. Their opponent, the Grand Canyon Antelopes, are in their third consecutive NCAA Tournament after taking home the Western Athletic Conference tournament title. That run earned them a No. 13 seed in the West Region.

Maryland ranks 11th in the KenPom rankings thanks to their stingy, sixth-ranked defense and 28th-ranked offense. Grand Canyon ranks 92nd overall, with a defensive rating at No. 67 in the country and an offense that's ranked 151st.
