How did Florida secure the national championship?

Houston tried to control the final seconds of the clock by walking the ball up the court and passing the ball around to get the final shot to take the lead.

The Gators’ defense managed to prevent Houston from taking a shot by blitzing the ball handlers and preventing the Cougars from getting a shot off on their final possession.

LJ Cryer had the ball but lost control of the ball for Houston before it was recovered by the Gators to allow the final seconds of time to expire.
