UNC's James Michael McAdoo staying in school

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina's James Michael McAdoo says he's returning for his junior season instead of entering the NBA draft.

In a statement from the school Tuesday night, the 6-foot-9 forward says he wants to eventually play in the NBA but "right now I want to truly enjoy college life."

McAdoo was projected as potentially high NBA first-round draft pick after last year and was projected as a first-rounder again this year. He was second on the team in scoring at 14.4 points and averaged a team-best 7.3 rebounds.

UNC (25-11) reached the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament final and the third round of the NCAA tournament.
