Wednesday hoops spotlight: No. 10 Duke at Wake Forest

The hoops-heavy Atlantic Coast Conference takes center stage on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils look to start out 2-0 on the road in league play. Standing in the way are the Demon Deacons, who have shown progress but are in need of a statement win.

Duke sophomore G Grayson Allen has emerged as the team’s top scorer since his breakout performance in last season’s Final Four. The bad news for the Blue Devils’ opponents is he still has room for improvement.

Wake Forest, under second-year coach Danny Manning, came up short in its ACC opener at Louisville last weekend but gained some confidence in a third-place finish in Maui in November. The Deacons will count on senior F Devin Thomas to provide points and clean the glass.
