'Under the weather' Mike Krzyzewski misses Duke's win against Georgia Tech
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski sat out Tuesday night's game against Georgia Tech to assess a sudden illness, the first time he's missed a Blue Devils game since 1995.
With Duke associate head coach Jeff Capel leading the way, the Blue Devils got back to winning — defeating the Yellow Jackets 80-71. Duke guard Grayson Allen tallied 27 points.
The Hall of Fame coach was "feeling under the weather" following a team meeting on Monday and decided not to make the trip to Atlanta with the team. Krzyzewski instead remained in Durham to get evaluated at Duke University Hospital.
The university said Krzyzewski's return is imminent.
Following an ugly stretch in which the program lost four of its last five, Duke fell out of the Paste BN Sports Coaches Poll earlier this week for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
