Duke's Matt Jones hopes to play against Louisville
Duke's Matt Jones, ruled out on Friday because of a sprained left ankle, was warming up Saturday in hopes of playing against Louisville.
The 6-5 junior had tests following Wednesday night's game at North Carolina, during which he landed awkwardly on his left foot after driving to the basket in the first half. An MRI confirmed the sprain, but X-rays were negative, meaning no broken bones.
Without Jones, or with Jones only available part time, Duke's already-thin roster will again be tested.
The Blue Devils essentially played a five-man rotation against the Tar Heels without Jones, with freshman Chase Jeter (who averages 4.5 minutes per game during ACC play) subbing in for a total of five minutes.
The No. 19 Blue Devils face the Cardinals at noon on ESPN.
