Big Ten: Conference tournament preview

BIG TEN

BEGINS: Wednesday

CHAMPIONSHIP: Sunday, 3 p.m. ET, CBS

WHERE: Indianapolis

OVERVIEW: Indiana captured the regular-season crown, and looked good doing it. No. 2 seed Michigan State, led by Paste BN Sports college player of the year Denzel Valentine, looks to be rounding into postseason form, as Tom Izzo's teams so often do. The Spartans will be in line for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament if they can win the Big Ten. No. 3 seed Maryland, led by Melo Trimble and Diamond Stone, looked strong most of the season, but the Terrapins skidded down the stretch, dropping four of their last six. Purdue, Iowa and resurgent Wisconsin also could be a threat.
