College Basketball Madness podcast: Behind the scenes at Villanova's celebration
HOUSTON — After Villanova's stunning victory in the NCAA title game on Monday night, coach Jay Wright was happy, gratified and reflective.
Wright thanked God, the parents of his players and the players themselves. He gave the crowd more reasons to love their beloved seniors — he told a story about how, after the rough first half, Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu told the coaches to stay out of the locker room while they got their teammates right.
“We at Villanova are good at doing three things together," Wright said at the Wildcats' postgame celebration. "We pray together. We go to basketball games together. And we drink together.”
Paste BN Sports' Nicole Auerbach goes behind the scenes at the celebration and speaks exclusively with Wright.
