OVERVIEW: One of the big stories of the non-conference season was Monmouth, who was beating power conference teams and celebrating in a unique style while doing it. Even though the Hawks lead the Metro Atlantic, they have dropped a few conference games, adding some losses the committee won’t love to see. Monmouth could have a chance at an at-large if it doesn’t win the conference tournament, but it could be a stretch. Its biggest competition for the auto bid will probably come from Iona and senior guard A.J. English, who is averaging 22.3 points and 6.1 assists per game.
