NCAA tournament ticket prices: How much does it cost to witness the Madness?

NCAA tournament ticket supply on the secondary market is down from 2016, but demand is soft enough to keep prices below face value at seven of the eight first- and second-round sites, according to TicketIQ.

The cheapest seat at the Greenville site, which will host top seed North Carolina, No. 2 Duke and nearby No. 7 South Carolina, is $131 according to TicketIQ. SeatGeek reports the second session featuring Duke and South Carolina's first-round games Friday is the most expensive of the opening weekend, with an average resale price of $197 per seat.

Friday's second session in Indianapolis, which has No. 2 Kentucky vs No. 15 Northern Kentucky and No. 7 Dayton vs. No. 10 Wichita State, has an average resale price of $181.

The Midwest Regional in Kansas City and the East Regional at Madison Square Garden in New York project to be the most popular of the second weekend. Kansas City's cheapest ticket is going for $153, while MSG's is $133, according to TicketIQ, which notes that prices tend to fall within 48 hours of tip-off.

According to SeatGeek, the first-round games in Tulsa are the most affordable, with an average resale price of $88 for session one, $114 for session two and a get-in price of just $16.
