UL-Lafayette (2-3) at Texas State (3-2)
Time/TV: 8 p.m. ET/ESPN2. Surface: Artificial.
Line: Texas State by 2 Sagarin difference: Texas State by 2.65.
Synopsis: The Ragin' Cajuns, who shared the Sun Belt title a year ago with Arkansas State, take to the road for their first of two consecutive Tuesday night TV contests. They'll host their fellow co-champion Red Wolves next week, but they'd be well advised not to overlook the Bobcats. Texas State won its Sun Belt opener 35-30 against Idaho in its last outing as RB Terrence Franks exploded for 284 rushing yards and three TDs. QB Tyler Jones didn't have to throw it much in that one, but he does have 12 scoring passes for the season. The Ragin' Cajuns' SBC debut was also a victory in a squeak as they outlasted Georgia State 34-31. Veteran ULL QB Terrance Broadway has been pick-prone early this year but connected with WR Jamal Robinson for two key scores in the win. But the Cajuns, too, prefer to run it when they can with Broadway keeping it himself or handing it to RBs Alonzo Harris and Elijah McGuire.
