BYU quarterback Taysom Hill out for season with foot injury

Brigham Young senior quarterback Taysom Hill will miss the rest of the 2015 season with a foot injury that he suffered in Saturday's thrilling victory against Nebraska, BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said after the game.

Mendenhall said Hill suffered a Lisfranc fracture in the second quarter when he appeared to come up lame following a 21-yard touchdown run. Hill stayed in the game before heading to the locker room in the second half.

It's an ugly and abrupt career end for Hill, who missed most of last season after breaking his left leg and damaging ligaments in his ankle against in a loss to Utah State. He also suffered a season-ending injury as a freshman.

"My problem is I think i'm going to take every (play) to the house," Hill told Paste BN Sports in August.

Before leaving, Hill completed 21-of-34 passes for 268 yards and touchdown and rushed for 72 yards and two scores.

True freshman Tanner Mangum replaced Hill in the game and threw a game-winning 42-yard Hail Mary pass in the closing seconds to lift the Cougars to a 33-28 victory against Nebraska.
