Some key offensive players had to leave games Saturday because of injury.

Baylor finished its 45-27 victory against Iowa State without quarterback Seth Russell, who sustained a strained neck on a 4-yard run without about 5 1/2 minutes left.

“He’s a tough guy. It’s hard to see tough guys hurt,” head coach Art Briles said.

Postgame X-rays and a CT scan revealed a fracture in one of the bones of his neck, the school announced. He will see a specialist next week.

Miami sophomore quarterback Brad Kaaya suffered an apparent concussion in the second quarter of the Hurricanes game against No. 6 Clemson. Kaaya was hurt when he was sacked by Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson in a game Clemson is winning handily.

Kaaya did not return to play in the second half and was replaced by Malik Rosier.

Shortly after Kaaya’s concussion, Arkansas freshman running back Rawleigh Williams III was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital with a neck injury suffered in the Razorbacks game against Auburn.

Williams was running to his right, toward the Arkansas bench, late in the third quarter when the injury occurred. He was face masked by one Auburn defender and then crushed on a clean hit by another.

The game was stopped for several minutes while Williams was put on a stretcher. Arkansas released a statement saying Williams had suffered a neck injury and was with his family at a local hospital. The SEC Network, which is televising the game, said Williams was responsive with emergency crews.
