Court date set for J.T. Barrett after OVI citation

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A court date has been set for Friday for Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett following his citation with a misdemeanor offense of operating a vehicle under the influence.

Barrett has been suspended for one game after he was stopped at a Columbus police check point early Saturday morning.

Records show a morning arraignment on Friday in Franklin County Municipal Court in Columbus. The records don't indicate a lawyer to comment on the citation.

The 20-year-old Barrett took over as the fulltime starter for the top-ranked Buckeyes Oct. 24, throwing for 223 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Rutgers.

Ohio State has a bye this week before hosting Minnesota on Saturday.
