USC player Chuma Edoga ejected for contact with an official

Southern California's Chuma Edoga was ejected from the Trojans' game against Utah State on Saturday after making contact with an official.

Edoga appeared to get into an exchange with Utah State cornerback Jalen Davis, who had just knocked down Edoga while USC quarterback Max Browne was being sacked.

Edoga was then pulled away from the exchange by umpire Rick DiBernardo, who immediately threw a flag to eject Edoga after the player aggressively pushed away DiBernardo’s hands.

Edoga is a sophomore from Atlanta. He is playing extensively while starting left tackle Chad Wheeler struggles with plantar fasciitis.

USC also faced the Aggies without starting center Toa Lobendahn, who is out for the season with a right knee injury.

It's the second week in a row a USC player has been ejected.

Last week Jabari Ruffin stomped on the groin of an Alabama player.

USC coach Clay Helton said Sunday that Ruffin will sit out the first half when the Trojans host Utah State. The fifth-year senior also will write an apology letter.
