Florida State's Dalvin Cook re-emerges in Heisman race with 267-yard outing

Florida State junior running back Dalvin Cook was overshadowed by Louisville's Lamar Jackson in a 43-point loss last week.  He entered FSU's game against South Florida on Saturday with just 228 yards and two touchdowns through three games, still searching for a breakout performance to substantiate all of his preseason Heisman hype.

The search is over.

Cook came out of the starting gates with a full head of steam, scampering for a 75-yard touchdown on the Seminoles' first snap of the game. And he was just getting started.

The third-year back finished the day with 28 carries for a career-high 267 yards (9.5 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, as No. 14 FSU rolled to a 55-35 victory. He also caught four passes for 62 yards.

It was the third 200-yard rushing effort of Cook's career. Something tells us there might be more on the way.
