Brian Kelly, Stanford strength coach have heated exchange

It has been a season of frustration for Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly.

There have been the five losses (against two wins) — including a 17-10 setback to Stanford on Saturday — a change at defensive coordinator, a handful of well-publicized outbursts.

The latest incident came Saturday: A heated exchange with a Stanford strength coach.

During his postgame press conference, Kelly said the Stanford coach brushed past him and said, simply, "Bye bye." Thus began the heated exchange.

A reference to the just-completed game, perhaps? Or maybe to Kelly, whose seat might be heating up. Stanford’s coaching staff has not commented on the incident.

In any event, it's just another in a long season of incidents involving Kelly, who has been known to be confrontational.
