Watch: Michigan standout Jabrill Peppers boosts Heisman chances with TD run
Michigan's do-it-all star Jabrill Peppers — widely considered the most versatile college football player in the country — strengthened his Heisman Trophy candidacy Saturday against rival Michigan State with a three-yard touchdown scamper in the first quarter to tie the game at a touchdown apiece.
It was his third rushing touchdown of the season and got the ball rolling for the Wolverines, who pulled away and finished with a 32-23 victory.
If he were a running back or primarily an offensive player, this wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. But for Peppers — a linebacker who has seen time at a dozen different positions during his college football career — it just served as a reminder as to how special of a football player he is.
Peppers capped off the day with a scoop-and-score touchdown on a Michigan State failed two-point conversation attempt.
Oh, and he celebrated the win with a backflip, too.
