The top six teams in the Paste BN Sports 1-128 re-rank of the Football Bowl Subdivision remain unchanged, with the four unbeaten Power Five teams leading the way: No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Washington and No. 4 Michigan.

In this sense, the 1-128 list was a week ahead of the College Football Playoff selection committee, which should rectify its enormous error of placing Texas A&M in fourth by moving the Huskies into the hypothetical Playoff field.

Ohio State was the only other option for the top four. There’s no way Louisville should be in the mix, not when the Cardinals have just one win against an opponent currently holding a winning record. On the other hand, the Buckeyes looked every part the championship contender in a 62-3 win against Nebraska.

But it’s a clear cut group atop the FBS. While it’s inevitable that the month of November will ruin all well-laid plans, for now the nation (and the re-rank) is led by the Crimson Tide, Tigers, Huskies and Wolverines.

New to the top 25: Virginia Tech and Southern California.

Out of the top 25: LSU and Florida.
