The Week 1 college football showdown between Alabama and Florida State won’t lack any buzz heading into the 2017 season, potentially pitting the nation’s top two teams against each other.

As for the debate about which team will be preseason No. 1, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban decided to settle it before the hype fully kicks in.

“Florida State has a great team and a great program and will probably be No. 1 in the country,” Saban said Tuesday at the SEC meetings in Destin, Fla. "It’s exciting for our players throughout the offseason, the spring and the summer, to get ready for a game like that."

Considering the Tide will likely be preseason No. 1 in the Amway Coaches Poll, Saban’s comments are a bit surprising, although still Saban-esque. 'Bama welcomes another class of five-star freshmen and now has an experienced quarterback in Jalen Hurts. As good as FSU can be, Alabama may be the team to beat.
