College Football Playoff selection show: Time, TV, streaming info for team reveal
The teams taking part in the College Football Playoff will be announced Sunday, a couple weeks past the usual date to accommodate a season that has been greatly impacted by COVID-19.
Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State are all likely locked into the field, but the Buckeyes' inclusion is sure to spark some debate. Ohio State is just 6-0, with four or five fewer games on its resume than its counterparts in the top 10 due to the Big Ten's late start to the season. But the Buckeyes also sport two top-15 victories and a Big Ten Conference title.
Texas A&M and Notre Dame are likely the two contenders to be the last CFP selection, but neither have a conference title. Notre Dame has the best win of the top-five teams, but it comes with a caveat: the Irish lost by 24 to Clemson on Saturday, a month after its double-overtime victory over the Tigers with Trevor Lawrence and other key Clemson starters out.
The semifinal games are back on New Year's Day this year, with one contest occurring in the Sugar Bowl. The other semifinal was set to be played in the Rose Bowl but that game will be moved to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
We'll have the answers to who will be playing for the 2020 national championship soon enough.
