Heisman odds: Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. still on top, Bo Nix closes gap after Week 10

There was some significant movement in the latest odds to win the 2023 Heisman Trophy after Week 10 of college football, but it wasn't in the top spot.
Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. maintained his lead in Heisman odds after a strong performance against the USC Trojans. It's the fourth time Penix has been in the driver's seat in the last five weeks, with his Week 9 drop to second – thanks to his and the Huskies' bye week – the lone exception.
However, there was a bit of shuffling behind Penix on the odds board, with one quarterback securing his highest position on the board with his best odds all season.
Here's how the latest Heisman Trophy odds look, as of Monday, Nov. 6, with odds from BetMGM.

US LBM Coaches Poll: See how the top teams in college football stack up in latest rankings
1. QB Michael Penix Jr., Sr., Washington (+150)
Last week: 1 (+275)
For the second straight week, Penix is atop the Heisman odds board.
That's largely thanks to his excellent performance against USC in a 52-42 victory that was a must-win game for the Huskies' College Football Playoff hopes. Penix completed 22 of 30 passes for 256 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Washington, ranked No. 5 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, heads home to host No. 14 Utah in Week 11 for another top-15 clash between Pac-12 schools. The Utes dominated Arizona State this week in a 55-3 victory.
2. QB Bo Nix, Sr., Oregon (+200)
Last week: 4 (+600)
Oregon quarterback Bo Nix entered the top two in Heisman odds for the first time this week. It nearly completes his climb to the top of the odds board after a dramatic drop to +3000 following Oregon's loss to Penix and the Huskies in Week 7.
Nix surged up two spots this week after methodically picking apart the Cal defense in a 63-19 Ducks win. The gunslinger finished 29-38 on pass attempts with 386 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.
No. 6 Oregon will remain home and play USC next week with the Trojans coming off their loss to the Huskies. USC fired defensive coordinator Alex Grinch after the loss.
Week 10 CFB overreactions: Alabama playoff-bound? Now or never for Penn State?
3. QB Jayden Daniels, Sr., LSU (+300)
Last week: 3 (+450)
Jayden Daniels and the LSU Tigers may have lost to Alabama, but the quarterback actually experienced a bump up in his Heisman odds.
Daniels finished the game 15-24, passing for 219 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He also led the team with 163 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on 11 carries.
The No. 19 Tigers will host the Florida Gators in Week 11, who are coming off an overtime loss to Arkansas.
4. QB J.J. McCarthy, Jr., Michigan (+600)
Last week: 2 (+300)
Two weeks after holding the Heisman Trophy odds lead, Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy's odds have dropped him down to fourth place despite a strong performance.
The Wolverines' signal-caller completed 24 of 37 pass attempts for 335 yards in Michigan's 41-13 win over Purdue. He threw zero touchdowns but also didn't throw any interceptions.
McCarthy and the No. 2 Wolverines head to Happy Valley in Week 11 to play No. 9 Penn State in a top-10 clash.
5. QB Jordan Travis, Sr., Florida State (+800)
Last week: 5 (+800)
In a week that featured some shifting around him, Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis stood pat on the Heisman odds board.
Travis was 22-36 on pass attempts with 360 yards and one touchdown as the Seminoles took down Pitt, 24-7.
He and No. 4 Florida State head home to host Miami (Fla.) next week. The Hurricanes lost to N.C. State in Week 10, 20-6.
