What college football games are today? Oklahoma Sooners make SEC debut season

The college football season kicks off with a weekend of action on Labor Day weekend, including six games under the Friday night lights. The Oklahoma Sooners will make their first appearance since joining a new conference on Friday.

The Sooners are preparing for their first game in the Southeastern Conference amidst a recent NCAA penalty regarding recruiting violations. Assistant coach DeMarco Murray will have to serve a one game suspension this season after it was determined that he had impermissible contact with 17 prospects over 16 months. Oklahoma's head coach Brent Venables would not confirm whether Murray will serve his suspension this week at the home-opener against Temple.

Regardless, the Sooners are focused on moving forward since the departure of Dillon Gabriel, with their new starting quarterback, Jackson Arnold, and aim to start the new season on a positive note despite the external distractions.

The college football season has already been packed with upsets and thrilling moments, and it's only Week 1. With the anticipation building for the upcoming games, if this is just a taste of what's to come this season, you won't want to miss any of the action.
